Hi, DS is nearly 1. And although I know each child is different, when I offer him food that is chunky/bitty and not pureed, he won't eat it, no matter how hard/often I try. He'll eat finger food no problems, just has an issue with it being on the spoon. My theory is that he thinks if it comes off a spoon it has to be smooth. It can be really thick, but any bits he either takes them out with his hand or spits them out. He won't eat a packet of 10 month plus baby food, too chunky for his tastes. Have I not done the right thing in encourging more chunks? He's only really now interested in finger food, even though I've been offering finger food since he was 7 months old. Will he just slowly start accepting it? I've been trying to do what the health nurses say and avoid giving him things too pureed as it can affect their speech, but he already has about 6 words and they are very clear, so am I worrying over nothing? And just need to give him a little more time? Sorry for the long winded questions. Skye.
